I started my day damn bright and early. By my standards, 6am is considered unearthly late rather than early, since it’s still dark and almost everyone is still wandering in lala land. But I got up anyway to help dear Lindt, and her mom (commonly known in wedding forums as “Mrs Teo, the florist located at Bedok Blk 85 market”) with the decoration for a Catholic wedding mass at Holy Family Church. We got to the church right after the early morning mass ended at 7.30am. After unloading the stuff off the van, we get down and dirty to work immediately.
The church was pretty bare and the low ceiling blocks the view of that beautiful stain glass window right behind the altar.

Here was what I have done. Simply secure the flowers with ribbons onto the side of the pews.

Lindt and her mom went about to drape the chairs with flowers.

More of where that came from…

Once everything was settled and done, I can feel those hunger pangs kicked in. I vaguely recalled Cheryl telling me about this quaint little confectionery just beside the church. Ah… Chin Mee Chin’s the name!

Cheryl mentioned that her hubby loves the way each cupcake tasted like “motherly love”. I just want to know what he meant. Curious, I bought 2 cupcakes to try. It was 9.30am in the morning and the shop was bustling with endless stream of customers. I would probably stick out like a sore thumb sitting alone in the kopitiam, so I stood by the roadside and gobbled up a chocolate-nutty cupcake. Mmmmm… Not exactly the best cupcake I have tasted. But definitely tasted like how mom would make it. I save the full chocolate one for later.

Jordi got a tailor to custom-make his wedding suit. Deciding on the cut and design on the suit was quite a challenge, since the design and colour would have to something to suit his physique. We took some effort in translating the visuals of handsome suits on hunky models to that of Jordan’s “fuller” figure. As much as Jordan would like to be my prince charming in white shinning tuxedo on our wedding day, we recognised that it would really be better to go with a conservative black 3 piece suit instead. Here’s the first round of fitting in the half-done suit.
It’s not that Jordan has bad sense in colour combination. He was wearing his favourite Liverpool polo-tee and had to put on that make-shift tie. Feels like christmas already?

I feel that the suit isn’t half bad. It might be hard to judge since it’s only half done.
We have alot more to say in our next post. Jordi and I have just experienced a weekend at the Catholic Engaged Encounter program. It was so nourishing to our relationship, we’re having withdrawal symptoms now. More updates coming your way soon!
Till then,
XOXO
